Today was an entirely free day to enjoy Taormina & its surroundings at leisure.
Most of the group rode the hotel shuttle into town in the morning & many hiked to the top of the hill overlooking Taormina to the Saracen castle & the small church of Mary of the Rocks.
From there a few hardy souls continued much further & higher to Castelmolo.
Everyone regrouped in the evening for drinks on the hotel terrace, before the group headed into town for dinner at the end of a great day.
